On Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, Helsinki-based Comparables.ai announced a $6 million seed round to grow its AI platform for mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The round was led by Pragmatech and Araya Ventures, according to Tech.eu and Runtime Wire.

What happened

Comparables.ai helps dealmakers find companies to buy, buyers for companies that want to sell and similar companies to compare valuations against. It combines a large database of company information with an AI search engine. According to the company, its data covers more than 370 million active companies worldwide.

The platform says it is used by more than 50,000 professionals in more than 30 countries. Tech.eu reported that one of the Big Four advisory firms is rolling it out across more than 10 countries.

Purple Ventures, Gorilla Capital, hi5 Ventures and Somersault Ventures also took part in the round. The company was founded by Niko Nalli, Markus Vesala, Martin Kangasniemi and Muhammad Ammad-ud-din. Comparables.ai plans to use the money to expand into more markets and improve its AI engine.

"Mid-market M&A has always been a visibility problem," co-founder Martin Kangasniemi said, according to Tech.eu. "If you cannot see the whole field, you cannot run the best process."

Why it matters

Large deals, like a public company buying another public company, get plenty of attention and research. Smaller deals are different. Most small and mid-sized businesses are private, publish little information and are hard to find. Advisors and buyers often rely on personal networks, which means many good matches are never made.

AI search tools aim to change that. Instead of a junior analyst spending days building a list of possible targets, software can scan millions of companies and suggest the best fits in minutes. That makes it cheaper to run a thorough search, which can lead to better prices for sellers and better choices for buyers.

The interest from a Big Four advisory firm is a useful signal. These firms run many of the world's deal processes, and a rollout across multiple countries suggests AI search is moving from experiment to everyday use in M&A.

The same shift is happening across the market for smaller software businesses. More people than ever are looking to buy finished products and existing companies instead of building from scratch, and they need better ways to find them.

What this means for founders and builders

Whether you are buying or selling, the M&A market is becoming easier to search. Here is what that means for you.

If you are buying: You have more options than ever. Buying a finished product can save months or years of development and let you focus on customers from day one. Start by deciding what you want: an industry, a type of product and a budget. Then compare options side by side, just as a professional dealmaker would.

If you are building to sell: Make your product easy to understand and easy to evaluate. Clear documentation, clean code and a well-defined target customer make a business more attractive when buyers come looking.

KIING DIGITAL LABS was built around this idea. We build complete software products and list them on our Acquisitions page for buyers who want to skip the build. Our product lineup includes Math Master Lab, a learning platform, and other finished products ready to take over. The bottom line

Comparables.ai's $6 million seed round reflects a growing need for better tools to find and compare companies in the hidden middle of the M&A market. As AI makes deal searches faster and cheaper, more buyers will find more products to acquire. For founders, that is a good reason to build software that is easy for a buyer to understand and value.
