An app with no revenue can't be priced on a multiple of profit — there's no profit to multiply. Instead, buyers ask a simpler question: what would it cost me to build this myself, and how much time does buying it save?
Start with replacement cost
Estimate what it would cost to design, build, test and deploy the same product with a freelancer or agency, plus the months it would take. A finished app is worth a share of that cost, because you skip the build risk and launch sooner.
Adjust for how ready it is to launch
- Is it live and working today, or a prototype?
- Are sign-in, payments and AI features already working?
- Is there documentation and a handoff?
- Are brand assets, a domain or marketing material included?
Be wary of “make me an offer”
A listing with no price pushes the pricing work onto the buyer, who has the least information. A clear starting price helps both sides. That's why our product pages show a starting price where one is set.
What doesn't add value
Projected revenue, unverified user counts and “market size” slides are not value until they are real. Judge the product you can use today and what you would have to spend to build it.
Talk it through
Each of our products lists what's included, its technology and a live demo. Request acquisition on any product page and we'll walk you through the code and the price.
