Namespace Raises $42 Million to Speed Up Builds for AI Coding Agents
Zurich developer infrastructure startup Namespace raised a $42 million Series B led by Scale Venture Partners, seven months after its Series A.

On Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, developer infrastructure company Namespace announced a $42 million Series B funding round led by Scale Venture Partners. The raise comes just seven months after the Zurich-based startup's Series A, according to the company and Tech.eu.
What happened
Namespace sells fast computing environments where software is written, built and tested. Its products include cloud "devboxes," a faster replacement for the machines that run GitHub Actions, and tools that work with popular build systems such as Docker, Bazel, Turbo and Nix. It supports Mac, Windows and Linux.
The company is now positioning itself as infrastructure for AI coding agents. These agents write code, then need to build and test it again and again. Each run needs computing power, and slow builds mean slow agents.
According to Namespace's announcement, NEA, 20VC, Essence, Burst Capital and Susa Ventures also joined the round, along with angel investors including Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel. The company says it has raised $65 million in total, that its revenue grew eight times over the past 12 months and that it serves more than 1,000 companies, including Ramp, SpaceXAI, ElevenLabs, Factory and ClassPass.
Namespace was founded in 2022 by Hugo Santos, a former principal engineer at Google. The company plans to use the funding to speed up product development and expand its data centers, especially its Mac hardware capacity.
"The use of agents in software development challenges the tradeoff assumptions made by prior generations of tooling," said Javier Redondo of Scale Venture Partners. He added that Namespace "is the platform that can meet the demand for speed and scalability, while delivering the same reliability and security that engineers have grown accustomed to."
Why it matters
AI coding agents are changing how much software gets written. A human developer might run a build a few dozen times a day. An agent can run it hundreds of times, trying fixes and testing changes around the clock. That creates a huge new demand for fast, reliable computing behind the scenes.
Namespace's growth numbers suggest that demand is real. Raising a Series B only seven months after a Series A is unusual, and investors usually move that fast only when revenue is growing quickly.
The plan to add more Mac hardware is telling as well. Apps for iPhone and Mac must be built on Apple machines, and those are harder to rent in the cloud than standard servers. AI agents that build mobile apps need that capacity, and few providers offer it at scale.
The trend also shows where value is moving in the AI economy. Not every winner will build its own AI model. Some of the strongest businesses will sell the "picks and shovels," the tools and infrastructure everyone else needs.
What this means for founders and builders
AI is making it faster to write code, but writing code is only one step. A real product still needs to be designed, built, tested, secured, launched and supported. Faster tools help, but they do not replace a clear plan and experienced builders.
For non-technical founders, this is good news and a warning. Good news, because AI makes building cheaper and quicker than ever. A warning, because "an AI wrote it" does not mean a product is ready for paying customers. Testing, reliability and clean structure still matter.
At KIING DIGITAL LABS, we use modern tools to build complete, tested products. If you have an idea, a custom build delivers a finished platform built the right way. If you would rather start with something already done, our Acquisitions page lists working software products ready to take over. You can also read why we build software before finding the customer.
The bottom line
Namespace's $42 million Series B shows that AI coding agents are creating a new wave of demand for fast build and test infrastructure. As agents write more of the world's code, the tools that check and run that code become more valuable. For builders, faster tools are a gift, but quality, testing and a clear product plan still decide who wins.
