reebuild Raises €3M to Automate Construction Back-Office Work

Vienna startup reebuild raised a €3 million seed round for AI that turns invoices and delivery notes into structured data for construction and real estate firms.

On Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, Vienna-based startup reebuild announced a €3 million seed round to grow its AI platform for the back offices of construction and real estate companies. The round was led by Fortino Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Ghent, Belgium, with participation from Rise PropTech, CuriosityVC and existing backer Hansmann Family Office.

What happened

reebuild was founded in 2022 by Alexander Kornell (CEO), Matteo Cimadom (chief revenue officer) and Luca Papay (CTO). Its software handles a part of construction that rarely gets attention but costs a lot of time: paperwork.

According to Tech.eu and EU-Startups, the platform takes documents such as invoices, delivery notes and order confirmations and turns them into structured data. It matches related documents to each other, recalculates invoice corrections and uses AI agents to prepare tasks and suggest next steps. Employees still make the approval decisions.

EU-Startups reports the following company-provided figures:

  • More than €530 million in invoice volume processed
  • More than 120 construction companies and property developers as customers
  • More than 8,200 construction sites and projects covered
  • More than 345,000 documents handled automatically
  • More than 2,350 active users

reebuild says its customers have cut invoice handling time from more than 20 minutes to about three minutes, and some report procurement cost savings of up to 20%. Named customers include Pittel+Brausewetter, 3SI Immogroup, Rödl & Herdegen and Kratzert Gruppe.

The company plans to expand beyond Austria and Germany into other European countries, add new AI modules that cover contractors' work from cost estimates to accounting, and hire at its Vienna headquarters, where it has about 25 employees.

"We know the problems of this industry firsthand," Kornell said, according to EU-Startups. Wouter Goossens, a partner at Fortino Ventures, said that "now is the time for construction companies to digitise and automate their back-office processes."

Why it matters

Construction is one of the largest industries in the world, but much of its office work still runs on paper, email and spreadsheets. A single project can generate thousands of invoices and delivery notes, and every one of them has to be checked against what was ordered and delivered. Mistakes cost money, and slow approvals strain relationships with suppliers.

reebuild is part of a wave of startups using AI to handle this kind of document-heavy work. The key design choice is that people keep the final say. The software does the reading, matching and preparation, and staff approve the result. That approach tends to win trust faster in industries that have been burned by complex software before.

The numbers reebuild shares also show why buyers pay attention. Going from more than 20 minutes to about three minutes per invoice adds up quickly when a company handles thousands of documents a month. Savings like that are easy for a finance team to measure and easy for a manager to approve.

What this means for founders and builders

Some of the best software opportunities are not glamorous. Back-office tasks such as invoice checking, document matching and approvals happen in every business, and they are often still manual. When you can measure the time saved per document, the value of your product is easy to explain.

A few takeaways for builders:

  • Look for paperwork. Industries with heavy document flows are ripe for automation.
  • Keep humans in charge. Let AI prepare the work and let people approve it.
  • Show clear numbers. Minutes saved and costs reduced are what win budgets.

The bottom line

reebuild's €3 million seed round backs a simple idea with big potential: let AI handle the paperwork that slows down construction, while people keep control of the decisions. It is a reminder that practical, unglamorous automation can be a strong foundation for a growing software business.
